Project Recovery Adult Outpatient Treatment Project Recovery Adult Outpatient Treatment - Duluth Help is conveniently available for men and women in Duluth.
Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment program has been operated by the Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment since 1987. It's located in the Center's new building at 1402 East Superior Street in Duluth and serves men and women who are diagnosed with chemical abuse or dependence problems.
The program is individually tailored to each client via a Multi-dimensional Assessment provided by licensed counselors. This assessment aids in development of an Individual Treatment Plan which focuses not only on achievement of sobriety in the short term, but also on relapse prevention. The plan, then, guides the course of treatment.
The Center's treatment approach is client-directed and outcome-informed. Client's are asked to rate each session and regularly report their assessment of progress. This enables the counselor and the client to plan specific treatment activities or consider treatment alternatives.
Typically, treatment is usually spread over some six weeks, although specific lengths of treatment vary. Clients progress at their own pace. Generally, they proceed by stages: from evaluation to development of treatment goals, and from learning to deal appropriately with their own unique issues to developing support systems for daily living.
The program is fairly intense. Clients attend four three-hour groups weekly, scheduled Monday through Thursday. Concurrent Family Information Sessions are conducted regularly. Individual Family Sessions are scheduled as needed.

Women's Day Treatment Program - Duluth There’s help especially for women.
In 1995, the Center began operating its Women’s Treatment Program. Now, combined with Intensive Outpatient, groups are separated to offer women an opportunity to address issues specific to them.
The program’s goal is to help women participants achieve the best quality of
life possible.
Individually tailored to each client, the program is facilitated by a female
counselor. Clients decide the
course of their own treatment by working with the Counselor on an Individual
Treatment Plan. Thus, in effect, clients determine the outcome they would like
to achieve, and the Counselor helps them discover how to realize it. The result
is a collaborative blueprint for treatment and for constructing a chemical-free
life.
Though time spans vary individually spread over roughly
sixweeks, with clients attending three-hour Group Sessions Mondays through
Thursdays. Family involvement is encouraged, and Information Sessions are
scheduled regularly as part of the treatment process. Individual Family Sessions
are conducted as needed throughout the course of treatment.

Relapse Treatment Program - Duluth/Cloquet The Center helps with relapse problems.
Relapse prevention is part of our Intensive Outpatient Treatment. Clients with relapse issues work specifically on those issues.
Individually tailored to each client, the program begins with a
Multi-dimensional Assessment conducted by Licensed Chemical Dependency
Counselors with specific training in relapse prevention and treatment. The
evaluation aids in development of an individualized plan. And
this, in turn, guides further treatment.
Clients progress at their
own pace, in some cases relearning concepts presented earlier in primary
treatment and in all cases developing specific new skills. These
faculties, in turn, aid clients in coping with the problems of daily living
without reverting to chemical use. Lengths of treatment vary.
Clients attend four three-hour Group Sessions weekly, conducted Monday
through Thursday evenings. Family involvement is encouraged, and Information
Sessions are scheduled regularly as part of the treatment process. Individual
Family Sessions are conducted as needed throughout the course of treatment.

The Center helps adult offenders to improve their lives.
Because chemical use and abuse is so pervasive among adult offenders, the
Center established the Phase I Outpatient Treatment Program in 1984. This Center
component serves adult males incarcerated in the minimum security Northeast
Regional Corrections Center in Saginaw, Minnesota.
The program is individually tailored to each client via a Multi-dimensional
Assessment which aids in development of an Individual Treatment Plan. This plan,
then, guides the course of treatment.
A Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a Corrections staff member share
responsibility for facilitation. Typically, treatment involves approximately 94
hours of therapeutic activity, spread over about nine weeks during the course of
a client’s incarceration. Programming is fairly intense. Clients attend four
three-hour groups weekly, Monday through Thursday. They learn how chemical use
has impacted their lives, how to deal with the issues facing them and how to
point themselves in a more positive direction.
Family Information Sessions are conducted monthly. Clients and family members
also are referred to counseling resources in their home communities for ongoing
therapy and support.
