Last Friday SMDC announced the closure of its adult chemical dependency programs. They will continue to offer adolescent treatment. The Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment and SMDC discussed earlier what resources would be available for clients impacted by this change, if it should come about. Accordingly, the Center will be expanding its counseling staff and attempt to keep waiting times for treatment to a minimum. There should be no difficulty with insurance coverage for clients, since the Center has contracts with most companies offering coverage in our area.
