Walk-In Rule 25 Assessments
The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment now offers walk-in Rule 25 Assessments Monday through Friday at 400 Torrey Building, 314 W. Superior Street. NO PRIOR APPOINTMENT is necessary but is subject to availability and space is limited. Clients are seen on a first come, first serve basis. Rule 25 Assesement times are from 8 am until 12 noon. Health Insurance Enrollment
The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment now has Community Application Agents available to offer assistance to individuals seeking to enroll in Medical Assistance or Minnesota Health Care Programs. If you or someone you know would like to enroll, this service is now available at the following locations and times:
Monday through Friday - 1 to 3:30 pm 314 W Superior Street, 4th Floor Torrey Building
Monday and Thursday 1 to 3:30 pm 1402 E. Superior Street

Gender Specific Treatment

HRA Applications
Section 8 Applications are now available at all Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment sites. Applicants can either complete the application at home or on site and Center staff will mail it upon request.

Chaplaincy Service
Provides lectures and 1:1 meetings with clients to help assist them in developing an understanding of their own spirituality and what gives their lives meaning. Grief and loss may also be addressed.

Detoxification Services - 1402 East Superior Street, Duluth
The Centers Detoxification Unit consists of 24 beds for medically managed sub-acute detoxification from alcohol and drugs, serving Kanabec, Pine, Carlton, St. Louis, Lake, and Cook Counties in Minnesota, and Douglas County in Wisconsin. The Detoxification Unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For detailed admission criteria or other questions, please email the Program Director or call the nurse on staff.

Residential Treatment Services - 1402 East Superior Street, Duluth
The Center has a 16 bed residential treatment unit for men and women, ages 18 and older. It is a highly structured, medically supervised treatment program for clients who have biomedical or mental health issues, an inability to abstain during outpatient treatment, or who lack a safe living environment. This program has a variable length of stay, up to 30 days. For more detailed program information, please email the Program Director. Intensive Outpatient Treatment Services - 26 E Superior Street, Suite 100, (entrance at corner 1st Avenue East & Michigan) Duluth, MN
The Center offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment in Duluth. Both day and evening groups are available, three hours in length, four days a week. Special services are offered for dual diagnosis clients. The length of treatment is variable. The Center also offers Outpatient Treatment for clients with chemical use problems who do not meet criteria for Intensive Outpatient Treatment. Medium Intensity Residential Programs - Duluth
The Center offers two medium intensity (extended care) programs Marty Mann is a 12 bed residential facility for women; and Howard Friese is a 14 bed residential facility for men. These programs are designed to provide continuing care for individuals following primary treatment. Long-term sobriety, education, employment, and chemical-free recreation are key features of these two programs. Rule 25 Placement Assessments & Individual Counseling - 314 W. Superior Street, Suite 400 Torrey Building
Rule 25 Placement Assessments are provided in Duluth. The Rule 25 Placement Assessment provides a diagnosis and is the basis for individualized treatment planning and referral. Individual counseling is available for clients who are not ready for primary treatment or who can achieve better results from one-to-one counseling. You can also come during our Walk In Rule 25 Assessment hours which are conducted on a first come, first serve basis between the hours of 8 am and 12 noon, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) at 314 W. Mental Health & Recovery Program - 26 E Superior Street, Suite 100, (entrance at corner 1st Avenue East & Michigan) Duluth, MN
This program is an integrated dual disorder treatment (IDDT) based program and is facilitated
by a dual disorder trained counselor. Treatment is individualized based on a multidimensional Rule 25 Placement Assessment with the clinical priorities as diagnostic assessment and medication management, substance abuse/mental health integrated treatment, psycho-social support and service coordination services. Program materials are adapted to individuals with co-occurring disorders. The program provides flexible approaches for dealing with relapse or with difficulty adhering to established treatment rules as a result of mental illness. Woodland Hills Adolescent Treatment Program - 110 W. Redwing Street, Duluth
Woodland Hills is an Outpatient Treatment Program for adolescents, established in 2002. Through a partnership with the Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment, youth have access to substance abuse education classes, multi-dimensional Rule 25 chemical dependency assessments and outpatient substance abuse treatment. Students in need of outpatient chemical dependency treatment receive peer-based assistance as they process their problems with drugs and alcohol and are available to youth in the Residential Treatment Center, Chisholm House (120/90 days) Community Transition and Intensive Day Treatment Programs. NERCC Outpatient Treatment Program - 6102 Abrahamson Road, Saginaw, MN
The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment offers an Outpatient Treatment Program to clients serving their sentence at the Northeast Regional Corrections Center. Clients are able to participate in a licensed treatment program during incarceration. Treatment is individualized based on the multi-dimensional Rule 25 Placement Assessment with focus on chemical use in relation to criminal behavior. Counselors are licensed by the State of Minnesota and the NERCC staff is integrally involved in the referral and treatment process. For more information please email the Program Director or call.
